Executive Managing Director
Matt Bender is the Executive Managing Director of Business Development and leads the firm’s national sales framework, overseeing development efforts and sales talent development, as well as external channel partner relationships.
Matt has nearly twenty-five years of experience in organizational growth, client service, community service, and relationship development with a special emphasis in the accounting, finance, and technology industries. Prior to this role, was the Managing Director for Riveron’s Southwest Region, responsible for market strategy, practice development, engagement delivery, and client loyalty in Texas and the surrounding area.
Prior to joining Riveron, Matt’s business development and client service experience included serving clients at RSM McGladrey, Inc. as Managing Business Development Director. In addition, Matt served as Corporate Account Executive & Global Partner Account Manager at Microsoft Corporation as well as a Business Development Manager for KPMG after starting his career as a commercial banker in the Southeast. Matt is a native of Tennessee, but has lived in Dallas since 1996.
He has contributed in numerous community leadership and service capacities throughout his career, having served on the Museum Council for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and as the board chairman for Young Life in North Texas, which primarily exists to support youth outreach in urban areas of the region. He also formerly served as a Planning Committee member for the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors. In other roles, he has served with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, and Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas. Matt is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Dallas.
Matt is a fly-fisherman, cyclist, golfer and a struggling musician. He and his wife, Beth, live in Dallas where they raised their two sons.
